Pounding Pain...

Gosh, how easy it is to forget how much an ear-ache hurts.  I have been struggling with a cold/sinus infection for over a week now and yesterday morning a tiny pounding in my ear started creeping in.  Tonight however, OMG, full blown pounding and pressure.  Like a hammer banging against a metal sheet, loud and painful, not to mention the ringing, like loud white noise.  And yes, it is very painful, ouch!  This morning I was lucky enough to get into my Dr's office and he said "it looks ugly" (the inside of my ear that is) so he prescribed some antibiotics as I have some beautiful white patches on my tonsils as well (lovely).  He also prescribed some ear drops and Nasonex.  I hate Nasonex.  Anyway, just popping on to tell you I will probably be laying low tomorrow, hoping that between the Tylenol and IBProfin, I will have some pain control.

Just wanted so share a pic of my Sweet Lexi Girl.  Such a good girl, so gentle and patient and listens really well, we couldn't ask for a more loyal or loving pup.

I think she is a little bummed that I have been working on the MAC so much these days and not paying attention to her, but she snoozes right at my feet just waiting for love.

Birthday Happiness...

Well, we have had two special birthdays at our house the past couple of weeks.  Our Mike has turned 7 and our Alex has turned 10.  They are definitely not my "little" guys anymore.  Yikes, I can't believe how the time has flown.  I could not be more proud of the personalities they are becoming.  They are so very different from each other (polar opposites really) but both genuine loving little souls.

My Amazing Cousin.... Tenille...

I have an amazingly sweet and talented cousin named Tenille, she just turned 15 on Tuesday (Happy Birthday Sweetie!!!) and man, can she sing.  She has recorded two CD's already but last year she learned to play the guitar (which just blows me away because she doesn't just play, she is a natural) and shortly after she started playing she also started writing her own music.  OMG, each song just gets better than the last, she has so much passion and emotion you can feel it in her songs.  Last November she wrote a song called "Home Now", it is a song about a childs perspective on their parent fighting in the war.

Yesterday they played her song on a National Canadian Radio Station and did an interview with her.  Lucky for us, the DJ posted it on his blog so we may go back and listen to both the interview and song, it is moving so I am warning you to have some kleenex near by!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hope all my wonderful Canadian Friends and Families had a wonderful Turkey day.  We stuffed ourselves silly (and literally, lol).  My Memer came up for the weekend as did my Brother and his family and we had tons of fun!  I just deserve a kick in the butt for hardly taking any photos.... sorry!  My SIL  did though and I am hoping she will email them my way HINT HINT!!!  (that means you Judy!)

Well, if you have not heard already... I will be taking a temporary leave from designing over the next little while.  Real life is calling and I really need to put all of my attentions to that.  I will not be adding any new items to my Shoppe (I am estimating until approx next spring) but do I promise to return, and with bigger and better designs.  I will be having a 50% off "Going into Hibernation" sale on all my products in the Shoppe over the next couple of weeks so be sure to pick up anything you might be missing!

Thanks for the well wishes...

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the well wishes!  Well it took almost 3 full weeks to get over that last bought of sickness.  I usually get at least 1 or 2 good sinus infections each year and this time around it was a doozy, blech!  Just this week I am finally feeling normal again.  You are all so sweet, thank you again for the wonderful comments.

Well, my poor hubby is going to be out of commission for a while longer, his recovery/physiotherapy is taking longer than expected.  He has been without crutches for about 2 weeks now (yippee) but is walking with a huge limp in trying to avoid serious pain in his heel.  They expect that another 6 to 8 weeks before he can return to work (and only if they can get the pain to go away), which is YIKES considering that his disability will be running out in a few weeks.  Which makes us turn to plan B... but unfortunately I cannot share any info with you yet, I promise more info next time.

Sick.... sick... sick...

Blech... sinus infection PLUS ear infection PLUS bladder infection.  Yep I got them all.  So very sick (and we are going on week 2 now).  Finally got some good meds from the Dr. today.  Hope to be feeling better soon.

Olympics Addiction...

OK, I apologize to be MIA but seriously... the Olympics are on.  And if you know me, you know that I am seriously addicted to the Olympics.  I love watching every sport and every athlete.  I doesn't matter what country they are from, only that each and every one of them trained so hard to get to the games, and they put so much heart in soul into what they do, I sit in awe every minute that I watch.  The opening ceremonies were incredible (despite the lip-synch, despite the digitized fireworks) it truly was amazing and I couldn't help but get emotional through many parts.  Perhaps it is the fact that the whole world can come together, as one.  It truly doesn't matter where you are from, what your religious background or race is, this is an occasion where all of us "as a human species" can come together as one, in the spirit of sport.  We compete together and feel each other's joy in winning, and sorrow in losing.  It doesn't matter which happenes, but the fact that we feel these beautiful emotions together... as one.... wow!  I am truly speechless!

On a personal note, my hubby finally got his cast off YIPPEE!!!!  It has been a long time for him (and me, lol) but he is finally starting physiotherapy.  It is super slow going for the first couple of weeks (feather weight) and then get into more motion later.  He is so happy to finally be moving forward.

I also have to apologize for the creative funk I have been in lately.  Just not feeling the juices.  The boys start school in a couple of weeks and I am hoping with the more time to myself that I get back into the swing of things again.  I did however create this super fun little Wooden Surfboard set.... coming soon to the shop.

BUSY HOLIDAY TIME

Well, on the personal front, things have been busy.  We have been going back and forth between home at the lake visiting with family that we only get to see once a year.  It has been a super fun time and I am truly going to miss them all when they are gone.  The kids play so well together!  Here are only a few pics from the past few weeks...

POOR DADDY

And my poor hubby has been enduring all of this with one leg bound up in a cast!  Ugh...  for those of you who don't know, he has severed his Achilles tendon.  He did it last January and it went on incorrectly diagnosed for almost 6 months.  After trying "anti-inflammatories" and "creams" and then the Dr. recommending a "heel lift" (which I thought was a joke) he was finally able to see an orthopedic surgeon who knew exactly what it was the second he saw it.  The Orthopedic surgeon was disgusted that he had been suffering with this for so long and mentioned that if he would have gotten a Dr. who know what he was doing in emergency, he would have been in for surgery within a couple of days as this type of injury is considered an emergency.  And because it was left untreated for so long they ended up having to use a donor tendon to help re-attach (since his had retracted so far they were unable to pull all the way down).

Poor Daddy!  Well he has a new cast (in camouflage) which the boys just love.  Only 4 more weeks to go hun, hang in there!

Off for the week...

Off for a few days...
